My Approach
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is an intensive process orientated talk therapy that aids self discovery and the working through of underlying causes of psychological suffering and relationship difficulties.
In my approach, I offer a warm, open, and containing engagement where I will listen closely to you. In this process, we will consider and reflect on the possible ways your internal and external experiences inform who you are and how you interact with the world to enrich self understanding and enabling you to live more fully.
This process is often a deeply emotional one, leading to the integration of aspects of you that have been pushed to the periphery, allowing something new to emerge.
This process has helped many to:
enrich self understanding
work through psychological difficulties, conflicts, dilemmas, and resistances
learn from experience
discover new ways to manage/process everyday stresses
navigate relationships and social interactions
nourish their capacity to grieve, let go, and change
deepen their ability to connect with and disconnect from others
work through attachment difficulties
live more congruently/fully
To do this, I draw from several psychodynamic and psychoanalytic understandings of human psychology, development, and technique, such as:
Object Relations Theory
Attachment Theory
Neuropsychotherapy / Neuropsychoanalysis
Trauma Theory
